Building works-Main entrance

vernadah letter.pdf

Dear everyone,

We wanted to let you know that we will be carrying out some building works at the school over the coming week. We are very fortunate to have received additional funding from Lewisham Council, which will allow us to make these improvements for the benefit of all our children.

Front entrance closure – Monday 24 and Tuesday 25 November
On these two days, the front entrance will be closed while a new covered structure is built above the front door.

At the same time, we will also be installing a new verandah in the main playground. This will give the children a much better sheltered space to play and learn outdoors as the weather gets colder and wetter, and will be especially helpful for those who prefer outdoor learning.

Temporary changes to drop-off and pick-up
Because the main entrance will be closed on Monday and Tuesday, all children will need to enter via the blue gate on Rolt Street.

Members of staff will be present at both the usual entrance and the Rolt Street gate during the following times:

  • 8:50am – 9:20am

  • 12:00pm – 12:15pm

  • 2:50pm – 3:15pm

If you arrive outside these times or cannot see a member of staff, please call 0208 692 3653 and someone will come to meet you.

We will return to using the normal entrance from Wednesday 26 November.

Temporary nursery arrangements
The playground works will be quite noisy, and the garden area will need to close while the old verandah is removed and the new one constructed.

For this reason, from Monday to Thursday, the nursery will run from the big hall, and children will use the Rose Garden as their outdoor space (where our Stay and Play sessions normally take place). We plan to be back in our usual nursery space on Friday.

Thank you for your patience and understanding while these improvements take place. We know that changes to routine can be challenging for some children, and our staff will be on hand throughout the week to support you and your children.

With all best wishes,
Cathryn
