Our School
Clyde is a maintained Nursery School, one of 397 across England.
Nursery Schools are organised and funded exactly like Primary Schools which means they are let by a qualified Head Teacher and a Governing Body. The curriculum is delivered by qualified primary school teachers and an experienced staff team (who are all qualified to level 3 or above). In addition to this, maintained nursery schools are required to have a qualified teacher as a Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO).
Clyde Nursery School operates between 8.00 – 4:00 pm each day, term time only.
We have an extensive and stimulating indoor and outdoor learning environment. Our experienced practitioners will support your child’s learning through planned activities or children may initiate their own play and build up new friendships in this way. Key staff will help settle your child after having made a home visit to meet your child before they start school.
In addition we have a sensory room with equipment to support children’s development of sensory awareness and in particular to give extra support to pupils who have additional needs.
Staff teams plan for individual children based on their observations of children’s interests and stages of development. We have found that this enables children to reach their full potential whilst they are with us.
Children move on from Clyde when they are four years old and mainly go to the primary schools in the local area. We work closely with our colleagues in each of the primaries and support each child with this transition. We have found that this gives every child the best possible start.
